SPOTS 1: Corrections for the Bride

Introduction to the series

“that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” - Ephesians 5:27

Christ will come for a Bride without spots or wrinkles. The Bride stands and represents the Universal Church of God; the worldwide body of Christians who have accepted Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour and await His glorious return. Collectively, that is the Bride (figuratively) or the Church. So the scripture, it suggests that Christ will remove any form of spots and wrinkles on the Bride before she can be fit to be presented to Him.

He will do this through the teaching of God’s Word by the saints, prayers and life of repentance and a daily walk with God. However, we need to understand what spots are, to aid us in our journey to becoming a spotless Bride. I will do that in a series since there is a lot to discuss.

About Spots

Now, a Spot, lexically, is a blemish made by dirt or a small contrasting part of something. Per the definition, a spot, as trivial as it may seem, can distort the beauty of a whole thing. So a spot in the Bride (the Church) distorts its beauty and glory. Also, know that these spots as we will be discussing are not abstract things, they are men and women in the Church. Their deeds and misdeeds make them spots in the Bride.

They don’t have spots; they are spots. The three types of spots as revealed in Jude 1:11-12 that will be under discussion are;
⦁ The way of Cain
⦁ The Error of Balaam
⦁ The Gainsayings of Korah

These will broaden your understanding of the topic. Stay with me.
